Counseling and Guidance
Counselor - Amanda Clark
The 2025-2026 school year will be my 20th year in education. However, my journey began way before that. In 1996, my husband and I became โfamily teachersโ running a group home for teenage boys while working for Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska. After about 5 years we came back home to Texas and I worked as a behavior interventionist for Lena Pope Home. From there I began teaching in a special education classroom for children with severe Autism.
All of my previous experiences came together in 2009 when I earned a master's degree from Texas Wesleyan and became a school counselor. I believe that every child should have the opportunity to be successful. I believe that every child needs someone in their corner cheering them on. I believe that every child deserves someone who will listen without judgment and help them find the tools to solve their own problems. I believe in the power of community and the empowerment of giving back. I am grateful to have the chance to work with your child in what I hope will be the best year ever! Please donโt hesitate to reach out to me for any reason.
